Tristan’s Education and Experience

My official accreditation is through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer, however my education started long before that.

I originally began my professional life by going to The University of Massachusetts Amherst for Astrophysics and Astronomy. Unfortunately, I was never able to finish my degree, however I do still love the field and consider myself a hobbyist astronomer. That background in physics and hard sciences acted as a great foundation and helps me in the understanding of mechanics, movement systems, force distribution, and energy systems.

The main bulk of my knowledge in this field, however, has so far come from personal experience and my mentor, Kyle Crocker of CalisFit. I met Kyle because I was dealing with the serious longterm effects of untreated Chronic Lyme Disease. He became my trainer and changed my life, helping me take control of my deteriorating and debilitating health problems in a way that no doctor or specialist had been able to. I went from having trouble getting dressed in the morning without throwing out my back, unable to walk up and down the stairs because of my knee pain, and being totally unable to work a job, to training multiple times a day and slowly feeling myself heal and grow. It was during our time as trainer and trainee that he saw the potential in me to become a great trainer and became my mentor.
I was able to absorb information that took Kyle years to figure out himself, giving me experience beyond my years training. I also had him to help me through my own health journey, and to help me with my new clients when I first started. I have him to thank for my health, the start of my company, and my mindset and depth of knowledge as a trainer.

Outside of these factors that gave me a fantastic head start, I have Kyle and other peers in the field, as well as NASM, to help me continue to learn. Any healthcare field is a constantly changing field with new information and new clients that may present challenges that you as the professional have not faced before. This is key to my mindset as a forever student, and from my background in university science, I consistently utilize technical research papers to help educate myself further or on new topics.

I am also a Professional Player Development Coach for the New England Revolution. I have been coaching soccer since 2018 and now work professionally with one of the largest soccer franchises in the country. I use my coaching experience and athletic background to help keep sessions fun and dynamic, while also occasionally sneaking in other more movement-based skills.

TWR Fitness has and will always be a scientific based company. It is our level of understanding for the human body that sets us apart and will allow us to achieve your potential.

About Just Me…

I am someone who likes to keep himself busy and has many different interests. As you’ve already read, I did go to school originally for Astrophysics and do love the field. For a variety of reasons, I decided that a long and rigorous (and expensive) academic path was not right for me at the time. Perhaps one day much later in life I will go back, we will see.
Instead of school, I spent 6 years working at a local restaurant, learning under two amazingly talented chefs, as a professional line cook and Sous Chef for Meraki Kitchen in Litchfield, Connecticut.
I also have been playing and coaching soccer since I was 4 and 19 respectively. In the spring of 2022, I coached a U12 Girls team in CT and they went undefeated for the season! That has been my favorite season so far.
I also am an amateur novelist and have the goal of publishing my books as a professional author one day. My projects mainly consist of realistic, adult, scifi and fantasy, but recently I have been branching out into other genres.
Otherwise, I love being outdoors, camping, hiking, I love sports like football, sailing, skating, and tennis, I love traveling, have my PADI Scuba Diving Certification, drink too much tea, and dream of one day having a white purebred Norwegian Forest Cat.
