"If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants" - Sir Isaac Newton

I originally went to university to become an Astrophysicist. Although that is not what I do today, I love the simplistic beauty and power of mathematics and physics, the way that they can be used to make sense of and construct our understanding of the universe. The foundational principles of math and physics are the same that I use as the basis of how I work with my clients.

Minimalist Training Methodology

I would describe my training methodology as minimalistic, efficient, science-based, designed to help create the well-rounded body.

What is the point of strength without flexibility, size without speed, power without control?

What we are aiming for is total body function.

Using precise exercise selection, we prioritize the 4 core pillars…

Strength

Mobility

Endurance

Control

…while keeping in mind modifications for your specific goals.

This is training for the 99%. Most of us aren’t professional athletes and don’t have hours a day to dedicate to working out in the gym. All we need is an hour or two a week, consistency, and intelligent training to get the most value out of your effort and make progress towards your goals.

Kyle Crocker

Kyle was my personal trainer while I was sick with Lymes Disease in my early twenties. NASM Certified with many specialist certifications, he could break down the movement of the body at just a glance and taught me how to work with clients, program sessions, and see the body to find exactly what I needed to help through a 2 year direct mentorship. He helped me start TWR Fitness and gave me the foundations I needed to use my love of science and sport to help people who are ilke me.

Dr. Aaron Horschig

Dr. Horschig is a highly accredited physical therapist, public speaker, and writer. He works with top athletes across the world and is a leader in using corrective exercise techniques to fix movement impairments. His book, “Rebuilding Milo”, and his online content have been huge sources of inspiration, exercise selection, and application, helping me help my clients in more fundamental ways.

Ben Patrick

Ben Patrick popularized the scientific concept of full range of motion training. He challenged old stigmas held within the fitness industry and streamlined the training process to its most valuable components. His methods are not scientifically revolutionary, however early on in my career he was inspirational, including before I became a trainer and dealt with my own debilitating joint pain. He is a great example of how to reach people, convey information, build a brand, and teach.

Dr. Mike Israetel

Dr. Mike was a professor of exercise science, is a bodybuilder, strength coach, and nutritionist. He is an excellent teacher and has built a brand around a no-bullshit approach to exercise science. He lectures online and discusses the science of training, performance, nutrition, and other health related topics with other industry professionals. His approach is extremely technical and only uses evidence-based facts supported by the most up to date research and evidence.

Special shout-out to Chronic Illness!

The complications I developed from Lymes Disease, something I originally contracted in 8th grade, left me nearly immobile by the time I hit 21. Constant nausea inducing pain, extreme fatigue, insomnia, joint inflammation, and so on. Although I would never wish an experience like that on anyone, working through struggles like that provide wonderful perspective and the process I went through to get better is what helped me find a passion for helping others! I understand what it is like to feel failed by your own body and what it takes to fix that.
